Boatlegger

Yacht check-in · free in Telegram

Know the boat before you sign for it.

Boatlegger walks you through a charter handover one item at a time: what to check, why it matters, and a timestamped photo of everything that was already wrong.

How it works

A handover, the way a skipper does it

About 45 minutes · on the dock

Walk the boat

The checklist follows the boat you’re on: catamaran or monohull, the engines it has, the sails it carries. Every item says why it matters.

  1. 1

    Tell it the boat

Name, model and the base. One screen.

  2. 2

Check one item at a time

Tap OK and the next one comes up. Stuck? “How to check” is right under it.

  3. 3

    Photograph as you go

Every photo is timestamped and kept with its item.

What you check

Sixty-two checks, bow to stern

The list adapts to the boat. Each item has a reference drawing, why it matters and how to check it.

Genoa furler

If the furling line jams, you can’t reduce the genoa when the wind builds. Unroll a metre and roll it back: it should turn by hand.

The report

One link for the base

When you’re done, the base gets a link that opens in any browser and prints as a signed record. Nobody can edit it after it’s sent.

Questions

Before your first handover

Is it free?

Yes, for sailors. Checking in a boat, logging issues and sending the report cost nothing.

Do I need an account?

No. Telegram is your account: open the bot and start.

Does the charter company need Boatlegger?

No. You send the report link yourself, and the base opens it in any browser.

What if there’s no signal at the marina?

Each check saves as you go. If the signal drops, the app shows how many changes are waiting and sends them when it’s back. Wait for “All saved” before you close it.

Is the report proof?

It’s a timestamped record with photos that can’t be edited after sending. It doesn’t replace the charter company’s own check-in form: attach it to that form.

Does it work in Russian?

Yes. The bot, the checklist and the report come in English and Russian.
